Your phone

The phone on the stand watches you and runs the game, so its chip matters most.

Tested on the iQOO 15. Chip tiers are our estimates. Budget chips like the Helio G99 are too slow.

Controller phones

Optional. Cricket and Fruit Ninja can use a second phone instead of your hand. Beat Swiper needs two.

  • Android 11 or newer, with a gyroscope. Some budget phones don't have one.
  • Install RIFT on it and choose Use this phone as a controller.

Your TV

From least delay to most:

  1. USB-C to HDMI cable. No added delay. Your phone needs video out over USB-C, like most Galaxy S phones and Pixel 8 or newer.
  2. Screen mirroring to a smart TV. A little delay.
  3. Chromecast or Google TV. The most delay. Fine for slower games.

Turn on your TV's Game mode. No TV? Use the front camera and watch the phone.

Wi-Fi

Only for controller phones. Keep all phones on the same network, 5 GHz if you can. If they can't find each other, join the main phone's hotspot instead.

Space and light

  • Clear about 2 by 2 metres, with room to jump with your arms up.
  • Put the phone 2 to 2.5 metres away at waist height, with your whole body in view.
  • Play in a bright room, with no window or lamp behind you.

Play safely

  • Keep clear of furniture, walls, the TV and ceiling fans. Watch for people and pets.
  • Play barefoot or in grippy shoes, never socks. Hold controller phones firmly.
  • Take a break every hour. Stop if you feel dizzy, sick, short of breath or in pain.
  • Ask a doctor first if you're pregnant, have a heart, back or joint condition, or have had seizures.
  • Children should play with an adult watching.
